The UP cabinet approved the updated Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the Aqua Metro Line on Friday, November 22. This extension will connect Noida to Greater Noida West and add 11 new stations. The estimated construction cost has risen to 2,991 INR-Crore from the earlier projection of 2,197 INR-Crore.
The Aqua Metro Line already operates between Sector 51 and the Greater Noida Depot. Extending this route aims to ease traffic congestion on the 130 M wide stretch. Finance Minister Suresh Khanna revealed that the extended Aqua Metro Line will now span approximately 17.435 Km, running from Sector-51 Noida Station to Knowledge Park 5 in Greater Noida. Additionally, this project was initially planned at 14.958 Km.

Furthermore, upon completion, this Aqua Metro Line is expected to attract 1.25 lakh daily users, offering a convenient and eco-friendly transit option. This project is set to transform daily commutes while reducing traffic woes in the region.
