The Uttar Pradesh government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has approved the establishment of Mahatma Buddha Agriculture and Technology University in Kushinagar district.
Additionally, the government has granted state university status to Jagadguru Rambhadracharya Divyang University in Chitrakoot. The decisions were made during a cabinet meeting.
Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi has stated that the university in Kushinagar will be constructed on over 390 acres of land, with an estimated cost of INR 750 crore. The university will span across 10 districts. The foundation stone laying ceremony is scheduled for next month, and the construction work is expected to be completed by 2026.
