The Central Government has granted preliminary approval for the development of two new townships in Uttarakhand. One of the townships will be situated in the Param Farm area of Udham Singh Nagar, while the other will be an integrated township in Doiwala, located on the outskirts of Dehradun.
Previously, the State Government had submitted a proposal worth INR 1,100 crore to the Central Government for the development of these two townships. The establishment of these townships is expected to create employment opportunities for thousands of locals.
Although the projects are still in their early stages, further progress will be made after the Central Government’s team visits the sites and conducts assessments. Additionally, the State Government has proposed the development of six more townships, including a Film City in Pittoragarh, a Doon Twin City in Dehradun, a Cyber City in the Sahaspur Area of Dehradun, a Wellness Township in Gauchar, a Haldwani Twin City in Gaulapur, and a tourism township in Ramnagar.
