Indian data center provider Web Werks and NYSE-listed Iron Mountain Data Centers are collaborating in a joint venture to establish a large data center in Navi Mumbai’s Rabale locality.
An investment of approximately INR 1,400 crore will be made for this purpose. This initiative will mark Web Werks’ seventh data center in India, with the Mumbai region alone hosting three facilities. In the past two years, the company has developed data centers in Pune, Hyderabad, Bangalore, and Noida, in addition to its existing two centers in Mumbai.
The upcoming facility, known as Mumbai 3, will be designed as a Tier III data center capable of supporting 32 MW of IT load. The projected go-live date for this data center is set for the second half of 2025. A land parcel spanning 5 acres has already been acquired by the company for the development of this proposed facility. Moreover, the data center campus has obtained approvals for an additional power substation with a capacity of 120 MVA, which can be utilized to expand the overall capacity in the future.
