Welspun Enterprises Ltd announced on Tuesday, February 4, that its material subsidiary, Welspun Michigan Engineers Ltd (WMEL), secured a work order from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).
The contract, worth an estimated 290.88 INR-Crore, involves engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) followed by seven years of operations and maintenance (O&M) for the stormwater pumping station at Mogra in Mumbai. Additionally, the project will take around 20 months to complete, excluding the monsoon period.

Work will begin once approvals are secured from the Ministry of Environment and Forests, the Mangrove Cell, and the high court. Furthermore, this project aims to enhance Mumbai’s flood management system, ensuring smoother drainage during heavy rains.
