Welspun One Logistics Parks has signed an agreement with the Government of Uttar Pradesh (UP) to invest INR 2,000 crore in the development of warehousing and logistics parks in the state. The agreement was signed at the UP Global Investors Summit 2023 in Lucknow, where the company expressed its commitment to expanding its presence in the warehousing sector in North India.
The company plans to utilise government and private land parcels in Lucknow for the construction of Grade-A warehouse facilities and logistics parks. The warehousing facilities and logistics parks will be spread across about 6 million SqFt and will be built over a period of 3-4 years, creating job opportunities for around 6,000 people.
“We are delighted to partner with the Government of Uttar Pradesh and contribute to the growth of the state’s warehousing and logistics infrastructure. Our investment will help create world-class facilities and generate significant employment opportunities for the people of the state,” said Anshul Singhal, Managing Director, Welspun One Logistics Parks.
The move comes in line with the government’s vision of making Uttar Pradesh a logistics and warehousing hub, attracting investments and creating job opportunities for its residents. Welspun One’s investment is expected to boost the state’s warehousing and logistics infrastructure, thereby contributing to its overall economic development.
