On June 23, Friday, Google CEO Sundar Pichai made an announcement stating that the tech giant would open its global fintech operation center in Gujarat’s GIFT city and would invest $10 billion in India’s digitization fund.

Additionally, Google plans to invest in companies that are working on Artificial Intelligence and intends to expand its bot services to encompass more Indian languages in the near future. In July 2020, Google initially revealed its intentions to invest $10 billion in India over the next five to seven years, aiming to accelerate the adoption of digital services in this significant overseas market.

Last year in December, Pichai had also mentioned that a portion of the India Digitisation Fund (IDF) would specifically focus on Indian startups, with a quarter of the $300 million fund being allocated to entities led by women.
