The Telangana government is implementing the expansion of Phase II of Asia’s largest life sciences cluster, the Genome Valley project, at an estimated investment of INR 2,000 Crore. Phase II of the project sprawls across an anticipated 300 Acres of land parcel and is expected to attract approximately INR 20,000-30,000 Crore investments.
Additionally, Telangana CM Revanth Reddy, on Tuesday, February 27, at the opening of the Life Sciences Conference, ‘BioAsia 2024‘, in Hyderabad, announced setting up 10 pharma villages worth an estimated INR 1 Lakh-Crore to help develop infrastructure, create entrepreneur opportunities, and generate 5 Lakh new jobs. The government has identified three clusters for these greenfield integrated pharma villages in Vikarabad, Medak, and Nalgonda as part of its decentralised strategy.

Under this project, Telangana will develop the pharma parks in a phased manner with three clusters to be developed in Phase I, followed by the remaining seven parks in Phase II. Each cluster will sprawl over approximately 1,000-2,000 Acres. The project is poised to position Telangana as a global hub for a global value chain in life sciences as well as catalyse socio-economic growth through strategic investments.
