Torrent Power bags 306 MW solar project worth INR 1,540 Crore from MSEDCL

Torrent Power, the leading renewable energy conglomerate, on Thursday, March 7, announced it has bagged the contract for setting up 306MW solar power projects worth an estimated INR 1,540 Crore. The company received a Letter of Award (LOA) from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co Ltd (MSEDCL) for the same.

The grid-connected solar power projects will be developed across 48 distributed locations in the Nashik district of Maharashtra. It is conceived by MSEB Solar Agro Power Ltd (MSAPL) under the Mukhya Mantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana 2.0 (MSKVY 2.0) for implementation of feeder level solarisation under Component C of the PM-KUSUM Scheme connected to the distribution network.

The project is anticipated to be commissioned within 18 months at a tariff of 3.10/kWh for 25 years. With this project, Torrent’s renewable capacity under construction has increased to 1.7 GW. The company’s total renewable capacity will increase to 3 GW in the next 18-24 months post-commissioning of the project.
