Assam CM performs Bhumi Pujan for SJVN Green Energy’s 50 MW Solar Project in Sonitpur

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, on Sunday, March 10, performed the Bhumi Pujan Ceremony for SJVN Green Energy Ltd (SGEL)‘s 50 MW solar power project in the Sonitpur district of Assam. The project will see an estimated investment of INR 291 Crore.

SGEL, the wholly-owned subsidiary of SJVN, will develop this project in the Sitalmari village at the Barsola block under Dhekiajuli Revenue Sector, Sonitpur. The project, once commissioned, will generate nearly 101 Million units of green energy and approximately 2,319 Million units over 25 years.

Geeta Kapur, Chairperson & Managing Director, SJVN, also mentioned that GEL is also developing three solar projects of capacity 200 MW, 70 MW and 50 MW, thus amounting to a total power capacity of 320 MW in the state. SJVN aims to grow by setting targets to achieve the Shared Vision of 25,000 MW installed capacity by the year 2030 and 50,000 MW installed capacity by the year 2040.
