Realty developer Unitech, on Sunday, March 31, began construction on its two residential projects in Gurugram, 12 years post-launch. These are Unitech Sunbreeze in Sector 69 and Unitech Vistas in Sector 70, respectively.
Unitech Sunbreeze comprises 888 apartments, of which 680 have been sold, whereas Unitech Vistas includes 23 towers with 1,287 apartments, of which 1,241 have been sold. Both projects are expected to complete in phases within 18 to 36 months. The developers launched them in 2008 and 2009, respectively, with an initial delivery date set for 2012. However, the developer’s default prevented their completion.

The company has acquired all permissions for construction and has also hired a project management consultant, a contractor, and a third-party government consultant to monitor quality and processes. The tender for 18 towers at Unitech Vistas with completed structures has been awarded. However, the tender for five towers with unfinished structures still needs approval from the apex court, said YS Malik, chairman and managing director of Unitech.
