Micron Technology India has proposed a greenfield project of Chip Assembly, Testing, Marking, Semiconductor, and Packaging Unit at Sanand, Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

Project Overview:

US-based semiconductor manufacturer, Micron Technology Inc, is setting up an Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Testing (OSAT) plant in Gujarat’s Sanand. The project will see an estimated investment of over INR 22,000 Crore, of which Micron will invest nearly INR 7,000 Crore. The rest will be a combination of incentives from the central and state governments.

The project will be developed over an anticipated 75 Acres of land in the SANAND Industrial Park (Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation – GIDC), with a construction area of approximately 2,177,999 SqFt. It will be developed over phases, with Phase 1 entailing the construction of planned cleanroom space over 500,000 SqFt. Micron plans to ramp up capacity gradually over time. This phase is expected to be completed by the end of FY25. Furthermore, Phase 2 of the OSAT facility will be similar in scale to that of Phase 1 and is expected to start towards the second half of the decade.

Tata Projects Limited is appointed as the general turnkey contractor for this project, while Meinhardt Group provides Technical consultancy.
