The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet has approved Tata Sons‘ proposal to build a museum of temples in Ayodhya. The estimated cost of the project is INR 650 Crore. It will be funded through Tata Sons’ corporate social responsibility fund.
The tourism department will lease the land for 90 years for Re 1, as stated by Tourism Minister Jaivir Singh. The state-of-the-art museum aims to showcase the history and architecture of renowned temples across the country. It may also feature a light-and-sound show.

The state cabinet also approved Tata Sons’ proposal for Ayodhya development activities, which will cost an additional INR 100 Crore. Furthermore, the cabinet approved a plan to convert unused heritage structures into tourist destinations. Specifically, Kothi Roshan Dulha in Lucknow, Barsana Jal Mahal in Mathura, and Shukla Talab in Kanpur were chosen for revitalization.
