Hyundai to establish Hydrogen Innovation Center at IIT-M Thaiyur campus

Hyundai Motor is set to establish a dedicated Hydrogen Innovation Center at the Thaiyur campus of IIT Madras. The estimated investment of this project is 180 INR-Crore. On Wednesday, August 21, Chief Minister M K Stalin laid the foundation for this project during the Tamil Nadu Investment Conclave.

This state-of-the-art facility will cover approximately 65,000 SqFt on the outskirts of Chennai. Moreover, the Hyundai Hydrogen Innovation Center will focus on developing electrolyzers for green hydrogen generation and localizing manufacturing and supply chains. Slated for completion by 2026, this facility will also feature a fuel cell test station and pilot demonstrators.
