The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has recently launched a massive 826 INR-Crore project to construct grade separators at six major junctions around KBR Park. This ambitious initiative, part of the HCITI program, aims to drastically improve traffic flow.
Sanctioned by the Telangana Government, the project will transform the urban landscape and boost connectivity to major commercial and IT centers. To ensure a comprehensive approach, the project is strategically divided into two packages. Firstly, 421 INR-Crore has been allocated to focus on the Jubilee Hills Checkpost, KBR Entrance, and Mugdha Junction. Subsequently, the second package, budgeted at 405 INR-Crore, will address Filmnagar, Maharaja Agrasen, and Cancer Hospital junctions. Consequently, this well-planned strategy ensures that all six critical junctions receive the necessary upgrades to handle increasing traffic demands.

Moreover, the KBR Park project by GHMC features a novel design approach. Specifically, clockwise traffic will use underpasses, while counterclockwise traffic will navigate via flyovers, thus eliminating the need for traffic signals. Additionally, the GHMC has thoughtfully incorporated rainwater retention structures in the underpasses to prevent flooding during monsoons, thereby ensuring year-round smooth traffic flow.
