Bonfiglioli Transmissions Pvt Ltd, the Indian arm of the Italy-based Bonfiglioli Group, is investing an estimated 320 INR-Crore to expand its operations in India. Recently, the company laid the foundation stone for a new Industry and Automation facility in Cheyyar, located about 90 Km from Chennai. Simultaneously, it inaugurated its Global Technology and Innovation Center in Chennai.
The new plant in Cheyyar by Bonfiglioli Transmissions will span an anticipated 25 Acres of land parcel. It will commence operations by 2025. This development will further establish Bonfiglioli as one of India’s largest gearbox manufacturers. Additionally, the facility is expected to create 150-200 jobs, addressing the growing domestic demand for heavy-duty industrial gearboxes

This investment builds on the previous year’s expansion in Pune, which strengthened the company’s capabilities for light and medium-duty industrial gearboxes. With a targeted turnover of around 1,900 INR-Crore by year-end, Bonfiglioli Transmissions is ready for significant growth.
