CMRL allocates 154 INR-Crore for acquiring land for metro rail project in Coimbatore

Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has allocated an estimated 154 INR-Crore in the first phase of the metro rail project to acquire land for a 1.1 Km stretch on Coimbatore-Sathyamangalam Road at Ganapathy. Meanwhile, CMRL has also planned to establish its own office. The civic body has readily agreed to provide the required space, ensuring smooth project execution.

The metro rail project will unfold in two corridors. The first corridor will stretch approximately 20.4 Km, starting from Ukkadam bus stand and ending at Neelambur integrated station. The second corridor will span around 14.4 Km, connecting the city railway junction to Valiyampalayam Pirivu.

Once the land acquisition is complete, National Highways authorities will begin road widening for a 3.1 Km stretch from the Textool rail over-bridge. With steady progress, the metro rail project promises to transform urban connectivity, offering faster and more efficient transportation for commuters.
