Chief Minister Nitish Kumar made several major announcements for Patna on Friday, February 21. With 623 projects inaugurated or launched, a total estimated investment of 1,404 INR-Crore has been earmarked for infrastructure development, road expansion, tourism, and civic amenities.
He approved the expansion of the J.P. Ganga Path, stretching westward to Veer Kunwar Singh Setu at Koilwar and eastward to Rajendra Setu in Mokama. Additionally, he sanctioned the widening of Nehru Path (Bailey Road) from Rupaspur Canal to Saguna Mor, including an underground drainage system.

Nitish Kumar also laid the foundation stone for key road expansions. Danapur-Bihta Road will be widened, while Nehru Path will extend to Gola Road. The Serpentine Drain road from Patel Golambar to Atal Path will transform into a four-lane road with underground drainage. Furthermore, the Mandiri Nala four-lane road will connect to J.P. Ganga Path, and Rupaspur Canal Path will expand from Khagaul Nehru Path to Ashok Rajpath. Widening work will also take place on the old Ganga Path, covering Gaighat, Kangan Ghat, and Didarganj.
Furthermore, Danapur Cantt-Maner-Bihta Road will expand from two lanes to four. Authorities will pave Rajiv Nagar Drain and Anandpuri Drain, constructing roads over them. Moreover, Nitish Kumar initiated the development of an integrated park and new public amenities between Digha and Sabhyata Dwar. The government will also renovate Mangal Talab in Patna City, enhancing facilities for Sikh pilgrims visiting Takht Harimandir Sahib. To improve accessibility, a multilevel parking facility will rise near Patna Sahib Gurudwara at Kangan Ghat.

With these developments, Patna will undergo a remarkable transformation, improving connectivity and enriching the city’s urban landscape.
