11 Km long elevated road from Nepali Farm to Dhalwala

Authorities have planned an elevated road from Nepali Farm to Dhalwala, stretching approximately 11 Km, to ease traffic congestion during peak hours. The project has an estimated budget of 1,485 INR-Crore. Officials submitted its Detailed Project Report (DPR) to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways’ regional office in Dehradun last November. Now, the central government is reviewing the proposal, awaiting approval from the Standing Financial Committee (SFC).

To further reduce congestion, officials will extend the elevated road beyond Dhalwala. This expansion aims to improve traffic flow across Rishikesh, particularly during Chardham Yatra and Kanwar Yatra. The next phase will cover around 7 Km, connecting Dhalwala to Garudachatti near Tapovan. Two tunnels will be constructed along this stretch to enhance connectivity.

Meanwhile, experts are finalizing the DPR for this crucial phase, bringing the project closer to reality. With these strategic developments, the elevated road will transform regional mobility, ensuring smoother and safer journeys.
