A pharmaceutical production and research unit will be established by Summa Real Media

On Monday, the Odisha government granted permission to Summa Real Media Private Limited’s request to build a pharmaceutical manufacturing and research facility in Bhubaneswar with a $200 million investment. The State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) meeting, chaired by Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra, authorised 10 industrial projects amounting to INR 2,005.89 crores. More than 3,545 people in the state will have work opportunities, thanks to these projects.

Summa Real Media Private Limited received approval from the SLSWCA to establish a pharmaceutical manufacturing and research unit at Gothapatna, Bhubaneswar. This plant will have an annual capacity of 1.6 billion units. It will comprise pharmaceutical formulation manufacturing, active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) manufacturing, and pharmaceutical research & development centre. This project will cost INR 200 crore and create jobs for over 1280 people.

The proposal by Sanvira Industries Limited to build a Carbon Electrode Paste manufacturing facility (capacity 100,000 MT) at Danagadi, Jajpur district, with investments of INR 205.44 crore, was approved by the committee. It also approved Sai Bulk Bags Private Limited’s plan to build a manufacturing facility in Paradeep, Jagatsinghpur district. This facility will have an annual capacity of 144000 MT and 24000 MT for fine fabric/HDPE/PP woven sacks. This project will cost INR 135.95 crore and create jobs for 260 and 301 people, respectively.

In addition to the clearances, the panel approved United Ferrocast Private Limited’s plan to build a 0.11 MTPA Ferro Alloys factory (224 MVA) in Badchana, Jajpur district, for an investment of INR 261.1 crores, creating 376 jobs. In Jhumpura, Keonjhar district, Balento Enterprises Private Limited received approval for a INR 775 crore investment in a 5 MTPA Iron Ore Beneficiation plant and a 3 MTPA Pellet plant, creating employment prospects for around 314 people.

The committee approved Oriclean Private Limited’s request to build a manufacturing facility for sauces, jams, jellies, and marmalades in Tangi-Choudwar in the Cuttack district for an investment of INR 88 crore. They also granted DN Sea Shells Pvt. Ltd.’s plan to invest INR 50.40 crore in the construction of a shrimp processing facility in the Seafood Park, Deras, Khordha district, which will employ more than 409 people.

The committee also accepted request by Runaya Aluminium Private Limited (RAPL) to build a 5000 MT Aluminum Powder & Pigments Plant in the Jharsuguda area for an investment of INR 80 crore, creating jobs for 125 people. With an investment of INR 85 crore, Mayfair Hotels & Resorts Ltd. received approval to expand their current facility, Mayfair Palm Beach Resort, in Gopalpur-on-Sea, in the Ganjam district, with the capacity to employ 120 people. Prior to adjourning the meeting, the committee approved a request for Naresh Kumar and Co Pvt Ltd to establish a Warehousing and Logistics Park at Baghuapal in the Jajpur district for an investment of INR 125 crore and the creation of 200 jobs.
