Air India is establishing South Asia’s largest flight training school in Maharashtra’s Amravati district. The investment for this project exceeds over an estimated INR 200 Crore.
Spread over an anticipated 10 Acres, Air India’s training institute will include a digitized operations center, classrooms, hostels, and its own maintenance facility. Additionally, the A-I FTO will feature 31 single-engine aircraft and three twin-engine planes for training. This school aims to prepare pilots for the airline and other carriers in the coming years.

Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC) awarded the tender to Air India to establish and operate this flight training school. The tenure period is for 30 years. Furthermore, MADC has increased the runway length from 1,372 meters to 1,850 meters and installed all modern navigation aids, said Swati Pandey, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of MADC.
