Aster DM Healthcare, on Tuesday, December 26, announced that the company is planning to set up a solar plant in Kasargod aimed at powering seven hospitals across Kerala. The proposed project will be developed over an anticipated 55 Acres of land parcel with a generation capacity of 10 MW.
The first phase of the project occupying 27 Acres of land is anticipated to be completed by March 2024. The solar project, once operational, is expected to supply clean, cost-effective energy to the esteemed Aster MIMS Cluster including Calicut, Kannur, Kottakal, and Areekode. The facility is slated to increase its generation capacity over the years by 10 MW, aimed at supplying energy to Aster Medicity in Kochi and Aster PMF in Kollam.

Aster DM Healthcare’s power generation portfolio currently stands at 3,679,200 kWh through solar energy, 2,300,000 kWh through wind energy, and 3,569,298 kWh via hydro energy. The company has also achieved a reduction of 6824 tonnes of carbon emissions.
