Seven BJP MPs from Delhi proposed four ambitious infrastructure projects to Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, on Wednesday, January 2.

The first project involves constructing a tunnel from Shiv Murti to Nelson Mandela Marg, near Delhi Airport. This development will slash travel time from 30–40 minutes to a swift 7–8 minutes. Secondly, they proposed linking the Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway to the KMP (Kundli-Manesar-Palwal) Expressway. This linkage will allow commuters to bypass Delhi and directly access the airport or Gurgaon.

Another project focuses on Urban Extension Road 2, connecting it to the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway. This strategic route will offer an alternative for vehicles heading to Uttar Pradesh, avoiding Delhi’s congested streets. Additionally, the MPs recommended extending Urban Extension Road 2 near Alipur to further enhance accessibility.

Notably, work on the tunnel project is already underway. Once completed, these infrastructure projects in Delhi, promise to redefine urban mobility, making the city’s road network faster and more efficient.
