Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) will soon commence primary works for the land acquisition of Phase III of the Namma Metro Project, Karnataka. The corporation has identified 100 acres of land for Stage I of Phase III and got the Finance Department‘s approval to initiate the land acquisition process.
The estimated cost of the project is 15,600 INR-Crore and includes the construction of two metro lines, a depot, and viaducts. The construction of the two metro lines, including the 32.1 km Kampapura to JP Nagar metro line (on Outer Ring Road) and the 12.5 km Hoshalli to Kadabagere metro line, is underway.

Out of the total development, 75 acres will be used to develop a depot on Magadi Road. It is projected to be the largest metro depot in the city post-completion and support both metro lines under Phase III. The remaining 25-acre plot has been identified for the construction of viaducts.
Currently, BMRCL is awaiting approval from the state cabinet. A joint survey for the identified land will be commenced soon.
