The Union Cabinet has approved ambitious projects worth an estimated 14,461.9 INR-Crore to enhance metro connectivity in Delhi and expand government-aided schools nationwide.
The Cabinet sanctioned the Rithala-Narela-Nathupur (Kundli) corridor under Delhi Metro Phase IV. This 26.463 km stretch will strengthen transit between Delhi and Haryana. Additionally, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) will execute this project at an estimated cost of 6,230 INR-Crore. The corridor is set for completion within four years from the date of its sanction.

Furthermore, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has greenlit the opening of 85 new Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) under the Civil and Defence sectors. It also approved one KV expansion in Shivamogga, Karnataka. The project has an estimated investment of 5,872.08 INR-Crore spread over eight years. The CCEA further sanctioned the establishment of 28 Navodaya Vidyalayas (NVs) in districts currently lacking them.
