Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari has approved three major infrastructure projects to improve connectivity and reduce traffic congestion in Jharkhand and Bihar. These transformative projects have a combined estimated investment of 3,330.40 INR-Crore.
In Jharkhand’s Dhanbad district, approval has been granted for the construction of two six-lane elevated flyovers on NH-19. These will replace and rehabilitate existing footpaths in the Barwa Adda-Panagarh stretch, spanning Nirsa and Gobindpur. With an estimated cost of 1,130.54 INR-Crore, this project will act as a bypass, reducing congestion and enabling seamless traffic flow between Jharkhand and West Bengal.
Meanwhile, in Bihar’s Kishanganj district, authorities have approved a 24.849 Km four-lane spur connecting NH-27 and NH-327E on the Kishanganj-Bahadurganj section. This 1,117.01 INR-Crore economic corridor will significantly enhance direct connectivity between the East-West Corridor and NH-327E. By streamlining traffic, this project is set to bolster regional economic activities.
