The Central Government has approved a flyover project in Belagavi to address the growing traffic congestion in the city. This ambitious project, estimated to cost 4,500 INR-Crore, marks the city’s first-ever flyover.

The flyover will span approximately 4.5 Km, stretching from the Pune-Bengaluru National Highway to the ICMR Center at the city’s northern entrance. It will pass through key locations including Rani Channamma Circle and Ambedkar Road. Additionally, a ‘Rotary’ will be constructed at Ashoka Circle and Kittur Chennamma Circle to streamline vehicular movement. Ramps will connect close to the Central Bus Stand (CBS), leading to RTO and Mahantesh Nagar Road.

RTO Circle will also feature three ramps, while Rani Chennamma Circle, Shri Krishna Devaraya Circle, and the bus station will be interlinked. Furthermore, a proposed service road will connect Belagavi Airport through a Road Over Bridge (ROB). This Belagavi Flyover will ease traffic congestion significantly, complementing the ongoing construction of a circular road, a bypass, and a six-lane road along the Belagavi-Sankeshwar route.
