CM YS Jagan virtually lays foundation stone for Power Projects in Nandyal

In a virtual ceremony, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy laid the foundation stone for three renewable energy projects in Nandyal district, with a collective power generation capacity of 5,314 MW

The projects include a 2,300 MW solar power venture by Greenko in Junuthala village, Owk Mandal; a combination of 700 MW solar and 314 MW wind power installations by AM Green Energy in Kandikayapalle village, Panyam Mandal; and 1,000 MW solar and 1,000 MW wind power initiatives by Ecoren Energy in Muddavaram village, Bethamcherla Mandal.

In the presence of the Chief Minister, APGENCO entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) to facilitate the advancement of pumped storage power projects. 

According to the terms of the MoU, the two will collaborate to establish 1,000 MW and 950 MW pump storage units at Yaganti and Kapalapadu, respectively. This joint initiative involves an investment of INR 10,000 crore and is projected to create employment opportunities for 2,000 individuals.
