Coromandel expands fertilizer manufacturing capacity with 800 INR-Crore investment

Coromandel International Ltd’s Board of Directors has approved capital projects worth an estimated 800 INR-Crore. It aims to boost fertilizer manufacturing and crop protection capabilities.

The company will expand granulation capacity by 7.5 lakh Tonnes per year at its Kakinada facility in Andhra Pradesh. In this plant, a new granulation train for NPK fertilizers will push the total capacity to 30 lakh Tonnes. The new granulation unit will feature advanced technology that meets top environmental and safety standards. With energy-efficient operations, it will ensure the production of high-quality phosphatic fertilizers to meet the rising demand from farmers.

Earlier this year, Coromandel announced the construction of a 650 TPD phosphoric acid plant and a 2,000 TPD sulphuric acid plant at the same site. The estimated investment is 1,000 INR-Crore for this project. 

The company will also build a state-of-the-art Multi-Product Plant for off-patented fungicides in Ankleshwar, Gujarat. This investment will help Coromandel produce diverse products and expand its footprint in the agricultural sector.
