Delhi Metro to Jewar Airport will cost Rs 7,000 crore, DMRC Shows First Plan

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has made a proposal to the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) on the first phase of the 35.64 km metro line expected to connect the proposed Jewar airport via Knowledge Park 2 in Greater Noida.

The proposed metro line connecting to Jewar airport via Knowledge Park 2 in Greater Noida will have 25 stations – 24 along the elevated part of 32.27 km and one will be underground near the upcoming airport. The estimated cost is close to Rs 7,000 crore.

YEIDA suggested a few changes, including a completion deadline of 2023 as per PriceWaterhouse Coopers’ (PwC) bid document projections. Another meeting is slated between YEIDA, DMRC and PwC, following which the revised plan will be sent for the state government’s approval.
