DMRC-DRA (a Joint Venture between Delhi Metro Rail Corporation – DMRC & Dineshchandra R Agrawal – DRA) has emerged as the lowest bidder for redeveloping Ahmedabad Railway station. The estimated construction cost of the project is 2,400 INR-Crores.
The project will be redeveloped under the flagship of RLDA (Rail Land Development Authority) on EPC Mode (Engineering, Procurement, Construction). It derives design inspiration from the Modhera Sun Temple. It will also include an open space amphitheatre (inspired by Adalaj Stepwell) along with several significant monuments of the city, such as Brick Minar and Jhulta Minar.

The project aims to develop a contemporary space housing a mix of commercial, residential, and retail spaces. It will be equipped with modern amenities for passengers and visitors and accommodate different modes of transport such as High Speed, Metro, BRT, Railways, etc.
RLDA initiated bids for this project for the second time. The initial tender, issued in April 2023, was revoked due to excessively high bids received in contrast with the estimated project cost of 2563 INR crores. In addition to DMRC-DRA, five other companies, including Afcons Infrastructure, ITD Cementation, Larsen & Toubro, etc., made financial bids for the project.
