East Coast Railway has extended the last date of bid submission for selecting Project Management Consultancy (PMC) for the Redevelopment of Railway Station, Puri to September 29, 2022. The tenders for selecting an EPC (engineering, procurement, and construction) contractor are still under evaluation and no contractor has been appointed yet.
ECR Redevelopment of Railway Station, Puri
The proposed project envisages integrated redevelopment of Puri Railway Station in Odisha with state-of-the-art architecture, seamless modal interchange, enhanced passenger facilities, and public amenities. The concession period for station estate development (including operation & maintenance) is 60 years. The redevelopment of Puri Railway Station will primarily consist of upgrading the level of passenger amenities through new construction and renovation. This will include the redevelopment of the station building, platform surfaces and shelters, and circulation area to better serve the needs of the passengers. The station building will have a Ground Floor and Two Upper Floors along with Platform Sheds.
The estimated cost of the project is INR 140 crores. The railway station will be developed on a site area of 15 acres and will have a built-up area of 1,89,380 sq. ft. With a 30-month completion window, the project is set to begin in the year 2023 and get completed by 2025.
