Essar Group to invest INR 30,000 Crore in Green Hydrogen Plant, Gujarat

Essar Groupplans to invest an estimated INR 30,000 Crore over the next four years to establish a Green Hydrogen Plant in Jamnagar, Gujarat. The metals-to-infrastructure conglomerate aims to make clean energy a key pillar for its new growth phase. 

Essar Future Energy plans to develop 1 GW (Gigawatt) of hydrogen capacity in Jamnagar. Moreover, it will establish a green molecules capacity of 1 Million Tonnes per annum over the next four years.

Essar Group aims to decarbonize its oil refinery in the UK. Additionally, it plans to build a green steel plant in Saudi Arabia. The group will also create an LNG and electric ecosystem to decarbonize long-haul heavy trucks.
