The Nagpur-Hyderabad Expressway is an ambitious project by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). Due to the constant increase in traffic on the existing 4-lane NH-44, NHAI plans to commence a feasibility survey for this new expressway soon.

The upcoming Nagpur-Hyderabad Expressway will span 1,100 km. The expressway will pass through four states: Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka. It will connect the third-largest city of Maharashtra, Nagpur, with Bengaluru, through Hyderabad. The project is estimated to cost INR 35,000 Crore (USD 4.2 billion).

The Nagpur-Hyderabad Expressway will have two sections: one from Nagpur to Hyderabad and another from Hyderabad to Bengaluru. It aims to reduce travel time and distance, cutting the current 24-hour journey to only 12 hours. While the initial target was after 2025, delays have pushed the completion date to at least before 2030.
