Gadkari, CM lays stone for INR 10,000 Cr National Highway Projects in Madhya Pradesh

The Union Minister for Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, with Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, on Tuesday, January 30, inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 24 National Highway projects, spanning approximately 724 km worth a total estimated cost of INR 10,405 Crore.

The ministers laid the foundation for 15 National Highway projects in Bhopal and Jabalpur spanning nearly 498 Km worth an estimated INR 838 Crore. The foundation stones for nine projects spanning an anticipated 226 Km worth an approximate cost of INR 2367 Crore were laid at the Veterinary college ground.

These projects include:

  • 6-lane road widening of the Ayodhya bypass section on NH-46.
  • 4-lane road widening of the Shahganj to Bari section on NH-146B.
  • Construction of a 2-lane with paved shoulder road for the Sheopur-Goras section from the Rajasthan border on NH-552 (extended).
  • 2-lane with paved shoulder road for the Shujalpur bypass on NH-752C.
  • 2-lane with paved shoulder road for the Ater and Bhind bypass on NH-552 (extended).
  • 2-lane with paved shoulder road between Goras and Shyampur road on NH-552 (extended).

The projects that were inaugurated include:

  • Jabalpur – bridge on the Jamni River (on the Tikamgarh-Jhansi road) of NH-539.
  • Jabalpur – 2-lane road upgradation work with paved shoulder connecting Chadiya Valley to Katni bypass.
  • Jabalpur- 4-lane widening roadwork connecting Bamitha to Khajuraho on a part of NH-339.

These projects are poised to boost agricultural trade in the Mahakaushal region and improve connectivity to prominent pilgrimage sites and tourist destinations.
