Goa: Gadkari approves 1,376 INR-Crore for 4-laning of NH-66 stretch

The Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways in collaboration with Goa PWD, has tendered the work of four-laning a 22.1 Km stretch between Bendurdem (Quepem) and Polem (Canacona) of the NH66. The highway stretch will cost an estimated 1,000 INR-Crore

Authorities have allocated around 1,376 INR-Crore for the NH-66 expansion project in Goa, which promises to enhance traffic flow, reduce congestion, and address accident-prone areas. Additionally, The hybrid annuity model will govern the project’s execution, with bids open until January 13, 2025. This ambitious development is poised to transform Goa’s highway infrastructure, benefiting commuters and businesses alike.

Following the Canacona upgrade, the focus will shift to the much-anticipated Cuncolim bypass. The proposed bypass will span from Uskinibandh to Bendordem. The Goa PWD has already submitted a land acquisition proposal, estimating costs at 405 INR-Crore.
