Government plans 20 new Technology Centres for MSMEs

MSMEs are at the core of major Government of India initiatives like Make in India, Start-up
India, Stand-up India. For their viability, there is an immediate requirement to improve their access to Technology.

Considering the success of the existing Technology Centres, the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) will develop 20 technology centres along with 100 extension centres across the country over a period of 3 years from 2019 to 2022 at a cost of about Rs. 6,000 crores.

The upcoming Technology Centres would be covering General Engineering, Automotive, Fragrance & Flavour, Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) sectors and would be equipped with multiple cutting edge manufacturing technologies.

The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) has floated a tender for the selection of Project Management Consultant who would be involved in undertaking assignments in the establishment of the 20 Technology Centres across India.
