Gujarat to build sports enclave worth INR 6,000 Cr for 2036 Olympics

The Gujarat Government plans to develop a sports enclave housing six sports complexes with an estimated investment of INR 6000 Crore in the state in preparation to host the 2036 Summer Olympic Games. The Government has formed a separate entity named ‘Gujarat Olympic Planning and Infrastructure Corporation Ltd‘ to oversee the development of the project.

The upcoming project will be developed over an anticipated 350 Acres of land parcel near the ongoing Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Sports Enclave and surrounding areas. The project is expected to be completed by 2030 to host the 2036 Olympics, should India win the bid to host.

The Gujarat Olympic Planning and Infrastructure Corporation Ltd had earlier floated tenders for developing the master plan for the proposed project through an open bid and the layout has now been finalized.
