The Gurgaon Metro Rail Line, a flagship project undertaken by the Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation (HMRTC), is set to revolutionize transportation in the urban landscape of Gurugram. This ambitious initiative aims to connect HUDA (Millennium) City Center and DLF Cyber City Rapid Metro. Spanning a significant distance of 28.80 km, it promises seamless travel between the bustling hubs of Haryana. Additionally, a 1.85 km spur connecting Basai Village to the Dwaraka Expressway will further enhance accessibility and convenience for commuters across the region.
The project boasts 27 stations, including six interchange hubs. The Union Government approved the project in June 2023, whereas Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone in February 2024. The construction cost of the project is INR 5,450 Crore and is expected to complete within 48 months.
Gurugram Metro Rail Ltd (GMRL) is executing the project, whereas Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) provides general consultancy services. As of April 2024, Cengrs Geotechnica Pvt Ltd has commenced geotechnical investigations for the project.
