Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) and its vendors are planning to invest 5000 INR-Crore each for the Talegaon plant of General Motors India (GMI) in Maharashtra. The automotive plant has an estimated annual production capacity of 130,000 units.
HMIL has signed the agreement to acquire the land, machinery, manufacturing equipment, and building for the Telangana plant in August 2023. The production is anticipated to be commenced by 2025 while the investment will be done in a phased manner.

Around 4,500 direct and indirect jobs will be created by the operationalization of the plant and vendors’ facilities. As part of its expansion plans, the company plans to bring the factory up to Hyundai Global Manufacturing Standards and expand its annual production capacity.
