INR 2,500 Crore Mega Rail Terminal to come up at Devanahalli, Bangalore

The Bangalore Railway Division is planning to develop a large terminal at Devanahalli with maintenance facilities to alleviate congestion at the city’s key railway stations. The project will be developed at an estimated cost of INR 2,500 Crore under the ‘Viksit Bharat Project‘.

Currently, the project is in the planning stage, with the Bangalore Railway Division conducting a feasibility study. The authority is actively working on land availability and aims to acquire an anticipated 200 Acres of land. Post-completion, the project will decongest KSR Bengaluru, Yeshwanthpur, and Bengaluru Cantonment Railway Stations.

The proposed project will include ten platforms for running trains and will align with the proposed 287km circular railway project. Currently, the Bangalore Railway Division awaits approvals from the Railway Board and the Union Cabinet for its development.
