INR 26,000-Crore Outer Ring Rail Project to come up in Hyderabad

Union Minister for Tourism and Culture, G Kishan Reddy, has announced that the Central Government will soon undertake the Outer Ring Rail (ORR) project in Hyderabad, making it the first of its kind in the country. 

The Railways have already initiated the necessary procedures for the project. The construction of the proposed Outer Ring Rail will run parallel to the existing Regional Ring Road (RRR), covering multiple districts in Telangana over a distance of 350 km. 

The Centre has allocated INR 14 crore for conducting a survey of the ORR (railway) project. The estimated cost for the Outer Ring Rail project is INR 26,000 crore, and the route map preparation is almost 99 percent complete.
