ISRO is planning to establish a Human Space Flight Centre & Astronaut Training Centre at Ullarthikaval along with a residential township at Kudhapura village, Challakere taluk, in Karnataka.
The Human Space Flight Centre & Astronaut Training Centre would be established in an area of 473 acres with a built up area of 1,43,000 sq. metre.
The land area for the proposed residential township with all amenities will be of about 100 acres and planned to be developed in phases. The proposed built-up area is 1,06,200 sq. metre.
