Jawaharlal Nehru Port unveils four key projects worth 8,363 INR-Crore

Jawaharlal Nehru Port announced four upcoming key projects during the third Global Maritime India Summit on Tuesday, October 17. The estimated cost for these projects is 8363 INR-Crore.

The four projects include – the construction of Phase II of the Container Terminal at JNPA (Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority); the upgradation, maintenance, operation, and transfer of JNPCT (Jawaharlal Nehru Port Container Terminal); the newly constructed additional Liquid Berth Terminal; and construction of port-based multi-product Special Economic Zone (SEZ).

The foundation stone was laid for the Container Terminal (Phase II). The project is based on a PPP (Public-Private Partnership) mode and will be executed in partnership with Bharat Mumbai Container Terminals Private Limited. The objective of this project is to bring advanced infrastructure and logistics solutions to the region.

The foundation stone for the upgradation of JNPCT, based on a PPP Mode with Nhava Sheva Freeport Terminals Private Limited was also laid. The objective of this project is to further streamline operations and increase efficiency.

Additionally, the newly constructed Liquid Berth Terminal was inaugurated during the summit. It serves the crucial role of handling liquid cargo, easing the pressure on the existing liquid jetty and will cater to additional demands.
