JSW Energy Ltd has commenced the construction of its 1,600 MW (2×800 MW) ultra supercritical thermal power plant in Salboni, West Bengal. This marks the company’s largest greenfield project to date.
With an estimated investment of 16,000 INR-Crore, the project will create over 2,000 direct and indirect job opportunities. JSW Energy unveiled this thermal power plant project at the 8th Bengal Global Business Summit (BGBS) in February 2025. The plant will have two units that will generate 800 MW each.

Meanwhile, the company is also developing a JSW Industrial Park in Salboni. It will span an anticipated 2,000 Acres of land parcel and offer modern plug-and-play infrastructure. Moreover, this park will follow updated urban planning models. Through the thermal power plant and the industrial park, JSW Energy is driving economic growth in West Bengal.
