Kerala: Facelift for 10 schools in Thiruvananthapuram

Ten schools in the district have been converted into Centres of Excellence under state government’s public education revival campaign.

An amount of Rs 5 Crore from KIIFB was utilised for upgradation of Government GHSS Malayinkeezhu and Government HSS Venjaramoodu.

New buildings were constructed for Government UPS Kudapanakkunnu, Government HSS Njekkad, Government LPS Kulathummal, Government UPS Vellarada, Government UPS Konchira, Government LPS Nedumangadu, Government GHSS Karamana using plan fund. NABARD fund was used for the construction of Dhanuvachapuram NKMGHSS.

Foundation stones have been laid for construction of new buildings for DIET UPS Attingal, Government VHSS Kulathur, Neyyatinkara and Government HSS Palayamkunnu .

An open air auditorium measuring 18,000 sq ft, badminton court, toilets have been arranged at Venjaramoodu Government model higher secondary school. 45 classrooms have been converted into hi-tech classrooms. Malayinkeezhu school’s new building has 29 smart class rooms, 25 toilets, 2 computer tabs, language lab, mini auditorium, library, staff rooms and office rooms.
