Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, on Monday, January 29, laid the foundation stone for the Innovation Tower at the University of Jammu, under the capex budget of 2023-24. The upcoming facility will serve as a Central Hub for transformational Innovation, Incubation, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship in the Union Territory.
The Innovation Tower will be developed in two phases with Phase I including construction of the G+3 structure and Phase II with a provision to raise the structure to G+7 storeys. It will comprise the Atal Innovation Centre & Data Analytical Centre, Skill Development & Career Progression Centre and Innovation Council, a dedicated space for the Innovative Undergraduate Program “Design Your Degree”, and a collaborative space for startups.

The facility will be designed to be flexible with in-built capability and multiple spaces for future technology. It is aimed at providing space for creativity and collaboration encouraging youth to discuss new concepts and utilise the testing facility for future projects to reduce the duration of the incubation period.
