Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had approved the Detailed Project Reports (DPR) of Metro Line 10, Metro Line 11 and Metro Line 12. The DPRs of the three proposed Metro corridors will be recommended to the State government for approval.

Metro Line 10 will connect Gaimukh in Thane to Shivaji Chowk in Mira Road, while Metro Line 12 is proposed to run between Kalyan and Taloja. It will be an extension of the Thane-Bhiwandi-Kalyan Metro Line 5.

Metro Line 11 will be an extension of the Wadala-Kasarvadavali Metro Line 4. It will extend to the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus and will be the city’s second underground Metro with eight stations.

Mr. Fadnavis also approved the establishment of the Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Ltd., an autonomous body with over 1,000 posts to handle the operations and maintenance of the Metro and the Monorail.

The MMRDA will be inviting bids for the construction of Metro Bhavan in Aarey Colony. The 33-storeyed building will serve as the control centre for all Metro corridors.
