The Maharashtra Government has approved the 53 Km elevated, six-lane Pune-Shirur Road project. This road will connect the Balasaheb Thackeray Samruddhi Expressway via Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
Of the total 9,565 INR-Crore, the Pune-Shirur Road will cost an estimated 7,515 INR-Crore. Meanwhile, 2,050 INR-Crore is allocated for upgrading the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Road via the Ahmednagar Bypass.

The greenfield expressway will be executed in six stages and span approximately 250 Km. It offers multiple entry and exit points to cities such as Shirur, Ahmednagar, Nevasa, and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. The work is expected to begin within two years.
The Pune-Shirur Road will extend from the Pune Bypass at Kesnand (Wagholi) and Lonikand. The Maharashtra State Infrastructure Development Corporation (MSIDC), along with the state’s Public Works Department (PWD), will manage the development. Upon completion, this expressway will provide seamless connectivity, alleviate pressure on existing road networks, and foster the economic growth of Maharashtra.
