Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) will invest an estimated INR 35,000 Crore to set up its second manufacturing facility in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, the president of Suzuki Motor Corporation Toshihiro Suzuki, announced on Wednesday, January 10, during the 10th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit (VGGS). The company aims to increase its annual capacity to over 40 lakh units by 2030-31.
The proposed facility will have an installed capacity of producing 10 lakh units per year and is anticipated to ramp up Suzuki Motors Gujarat‘s annual production capacity to 2 Million units. It is scheduled to be operational by FY2028-29.

Suzuki Motors also announced that the company will launch its first Battery Electronic Vehicle (BEV) by the end of 2024. It plans to invest an estimated INR 3200 Crore in expanding BEV production with a new production line expected to produce 2.5 lakh units annually. The company’s annual capacity will thereby increase to 10 lakh units per annum from the current 7.5 lakh. This facility is anticipated to be operational by FY 2026-27.
